Grade 11
Forming the Narrative
The most important part of the college application is the narrative. Each successful application to top universities will give admission officers a sense of who the student is, how they got there, and where they will likely go in the future.
Junior year, we’ll work with your student to craft their compelling narrative. We’ll make sure every part of their application component, from their courses to activities to recommendation letters, will fit together seamlessly.
What We’ll Do
We will help your student prepare a compelling narrative for Ivy League and other top universities.
-
We will work step-by-step with your student to plan a compelling narrative. Rather than looking backward senior year, we will use junior year to look forward: choosing a cohesive schedule, asking the right teachers for recommendations, and prioritizing the most important activities. We will start brainstorming a narrative junior year so students can look forward when it’s early, not backward when it may be too late.
-
Junior year is the most important academic year in a student’s application. We will ensure that your child excels academically. We will mentor them in any classes they may need help in. Finally, we will prepare them for standardized testing, ensuring that they are well above the academic bars for their desired universities.
-
We help students follow through on their extracurricular commitments, reaching the highest level of leadership. If needed, we will also help students start their own organizations to showcase their interests. This is the last year to start new activities to be meaningful for colleges.
-
We will synthesize the students’ accomplishments into a “brag sheet” for the teachers and counselors writing them letters of recommendation. These “brag sheets” are an often-underlooked way to stand out among the many other students whom teachers are recommending. We’ve written letters of recommendation and have seen what stands out in admissions files, so we know what works.
